Materials needed in obtaining a Visa

There are a lot more materials that are required in order to obtain a Belgian Visa than other Country Visas.

*It is recommended that a student should gather the materials that they need a least three months before the they submit their Visa application.
Below is a list of materials that student is to need before they submit for Belgian Visa:

1. Student Passport that is valid for a least 15 months.

2. Two Visa applications that are completed, dated, and signed.

3. Completed Language form

4. Two recent passport photos (The photos are to be attached to the Visa applications) that are signed on the back.

5. For students that are 21 years old or older, they need to submit a completed FBI background check (The background check needs to be within 6 months of the submission of the Visa application).

6. Medical Certificate
* The Medical Certificate needs to be filled out by a physician that is affiliated with the Embassy of the Consulate General. If a student chooses to see a family physician, the student then needs to have the certificate notarized by an official notary.
* If the Certificate is notarized, then a student needs to send the document to the Secretary of State, so that it can be authenticated by an apostle.

7. A financial support declaration form needs to be filled out by the sponsor of the student.
* The form needs to be in the language of the school that the student will be attending (most likely Dutch or French).

8. The sponsor of the student also needs to provided a proof of solvency which requires:
  •  2 copies of W2 forms from the last fiscal year
